Hemet Firefighters Win Two Year Fight to Save 106-Year-Old Department: After a pitched two-year fight, the Hemet city council reversed its plan to contract out fire protection, saving the city's 106 year old fire department. The decision was a victory for Hemet Fire Fighters Local 2342 and the citizens, who stepped up to defend their firefighters and their fire department.
