In Memoriam: CPF 6th District Vice President Emeritus Bob Wolf
It is with a heavy heart that CAL FIRE Local 2881 has announced the passing of long-time Local 2881 President and CPF 6th District Vice President Emeritus Bob Wolf. Brother Wolf died suddenly last night in Arizona.
Brother Wolf was the longest-serving president of CAL FIRE Local 2881, serving from 2002 to 2012. He spent nearly three decades as a front line firefighter, almost all of it with CAL FIRE.
“The idea that Bob is no longer with us is difficult for all of us who spent time in his company. He was a man of extraordinary talents and energy," said CAL FIRE Local 2881 President Mike Lopez. "The best way to remember Bob is to acknowledge that with the exception of his family, he loved no one more than his firefighters."

CPF President Lou Paulson echoed Lopez's sentiments in a statement on Brother Wolf's death:
“The sudden passing of our firefighter and union brother Bob Wolf is a blow to our profession and the firefighter labor movement.
“As a 30-year firefighter, union member and eventually the president of CAL FIRE Local 2881, Bob was truly devoted to his profession and the men and women whom he proudly served.
“During his decade as Local 2881 president (2002 to 2012), Bob was a tough and tenacious advocate for his brothers and sisters. As a member of the CPF Executive Board, he time and again demonstrated his steadfast commitment to making life better for all California firefighters.
“Bob leaves an important legacy in our movement, and he will be missed. On behalf of the CPF Executive Board and 30,000 proud union firefighters, I extend our deepest condolences to his family and the brothers and sisters of Local 2881.”
