Governor Brown Appoints Firefighter to EMS Commission
Governor Jerry Brown has appointed Sean Burrows from Alameda County Firefighters Local 55 to the Commission on Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The commission oversees regulations and standards established by the state EMS Director covering paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). It’s critical to have the frontline firefighter voice heard on EMS issues, and Burrows occupies one of three firefighter positions on the commission.
With over 23 years working as a paramedic, Burrows has developed a specialized understanding of the integral role that the fire service plays in the delivery of emergency medical services (EMS). He is currently the president of Alameda County Firefighters Local 55.
