Are You California's Best Firehouse Chef?
It’s that time of year again—time for the California State Fair’s annual Best Firehouse Chef Challenge! Don’t miss this chance to show off your culinary masterpieces in a friendly competition with brother and sister firefighters from around the state.
Two-person teams from fire departments across California will prepare meals before a live audience of fairgoers and a table of qualified judges. Firefighters compete for State Fair ribbons and the coveted Golden Bear Trophy, awarded to the first place winner of the competition. Win, lose or draw, this year’s Best Firehouse Chef Challenge promises delicious food and a great time for all who attend.

To reserve your spot in this competition, please complete and return the challenge application by Friday, June 28, 2013. CLICK HERE for application.
The Preliminary Rounds will take place on Saturday, July 27th:
• Round 1 - 11:00 am
• Round 2 - 2:00 pm
• Round 3 - 5:00 pm
The 1st place winners of each Preliminary Round will compete in the Final Round on Sunday, July 28th from 11am - 1pm. Upon receipt of your application, the Program Coordinator will contact you to schedule your Preliminary Round.
