CPF Endorses Susan Bonilla in 7th Senate District Special Election

Earlier this month, voters residing in California’s 7th Senate District were mailed ballots for the upcoming special election.

This race has major implications for first responders and labor organizations across the state, and California Professional Firefighters is strongly endorsing Susan Bonilla for the seat.

Bonilla has a proven track record of leadership and has shown that she is willing to stand up for CPF members and all public workers. Her history of public service includes terms as mayor of Concord and a member of the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors. In 2010, Bonilla was elected to the state Assembly, where she currently represents the 14th District.

California’s 7th Senate District represents the majority of Contra Costa County, as well as a portion of Alameda County. CPF members residing in these counties may be eligible to cast a ballot in this election, and can confirm their Senate district here.

Ballots for the special election were distributed by mail in late February and must be mailed back and received by March 17.

Please don’t delay, we have an opportunity to help place a strong advocate for labor and first responders in the state’s upper house. Locate your ballot and cast a vote for Susan Bonilla today!
