Pension Rollbacks (AB 340) -- Background and Talking Points
On August 31, the California Legislature sent Governor Jerry Brown a sweeping set of rollbacks in California's retirement system.
Assembly Bill 340 increases the retirement age for new workers, phases in increased retirement contributions for all workers and imposes a variety of curbs without collective bargaining.
The Legislature also approved companion legislation -- AB 197 -- containing additional refinements covering certain county retirement systems.
