The California Fire Foundation's Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency, or SAVE, program has officially launched in the state's largest metropolitan area, with the Los Angeles city and county fire departments, as well as their respective employee groups, having adopted the program. Roughly half the state's residents are now served by a department participating in SAVE.
